Editorial Mariano Arosemena from MiCultura will promote research and literary works

Panama, June 12, 2020 -The new members of the Editorial Board of the Mariano Arosemena Editorial Board held their office at a virtual ceremony held by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura).

The Vice Minister of Culture, Gabriel González, swore to researcher Marixa Lasso at the Editorial Board, accompanied by writers Priscila Delgado, Luis Pulido Ritter, Fernando Aparicio, Fernando Martínez and Amalia Nicolau as their new members.

"Today's a very special historic date for Panama and as a Ministry of Culture, we are greatly honored to accompany them in this important announcement. The vitality of a prestigious and traditional publishing house such as the Mariano Arosemena Editorial of the Ministry of Culture of Panama, is strengthening with the official announcement of the new members of its Editorial Board," stated the Deputy Minister.

Lasso, currently the National Director of Research and Publications of the Ministry, explained that the members of this editorial board bring their national and international experiences with the publication of works of literature as well as research works in social and human sciences.

The members of the committee will help to define the new policy of this Unit, set the parameters for selection of works published by the editorial and create a peer review system for Panamanian authors interested in publishing their research results low this modality.

"With the training of the committee we seek to re-think for the recognition and rescue of our literary values and to stimulate the development of more research that will enrich us as a country," Lasso added.

At the same time, Deputy Minister González, I reiterate that with this transcendental act for Panamanian culture, the Ministry of Culture helps to build new ways about this home of literary production and tradition and to renew and adapt it to our times, to create, achieve goals and make dreams come true.
