MiCultura pays 65 thousand dollars to company that restored Teatro Nacional

Panama, June 11, 2020.-The Ministry of Culture of Panama paid an amount of B /. 465.631.50 to the construction project manager, S.A (APROCOSA) as outstanding payments to the supplier that has been charged with performing the restoration work of the National Theater.

With these assignments fulfilled, MiCultura honors President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen's promise, amidst the COVID 19 crisis, to face all the government's commitments to the providers of the projects they have been performing, and thus help to energize the economy for the benefit of different sectors and professionals in our country.

He responded to Gabriel González, Vice Minister of Culture, and gave his outstanding payment check to Apricosa. Additional to that, B /. 17,677.58 were given to the National Treasury for a 50% tax retention.

He adds that the company select by the previous administration to conduct the restoration work of this iconic architectural jewel from the early 20th century, whose jobs have been about B / .15 million dollars, has collaborated with all necessary to carry out the complete architectural restoration work of the National Theater of Panama.

"With these payments, we continue to respect and make an effective and up to date with our commitments, with the aim of meeting the responsibilities we have to honor as a state institution at the service of all Panamanians," González emphasized.
