Retiring cultural proposal to enjoy the arts

With an extensive program, the arts party organized by the National Directorate of the Arts of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) continues to attract those who love literature and visual arts who will enjoy an extensive cultural offer for all tastes and that will cover all October.

The event continued with the Festival of Visual Arts at the Juan Manuel Cedeño Gallery with the opening of the exhibition "Dreams of Crystal," by the authorship of Panamanian artists Poonam Chatlani and Chini Carles.

In this sample, through fifteen pieces, the talented ladies pay tribute to the UN declaration that 2022 stands out as "International Year of Glass," to give relevance to this sustainable, recyclable and applicable material in diversity of items.

In this respect, Chatlani, who also wins the second place of the Roberto Lewis 2022 National Visual Arts Competition in the Sculpture category, stated that "while glass has many processes, the final result is charming, because this material is transparency, rot. It doesn't only transmit peace and peace but it makes you feel that beauty of being."

While Carles emphasized that "with glass it's quite common that what you dream about, so that's why the name of the exhibition" Dreams of Crystal "doesn't come out exactly but better.

"For instance, I pay tribute to the woman in my collection, because she's at the centre of everything, she's as an example to be followed," Carles emphasized.

At the same time to this exhibition, the Anita Villalaz Theater was the stage for the presentation of "Tintero," a performance by the dancer Ana Delia Gudiño in which, according to the artist, she wished to transmit that story that "you write yourself, a being that always finds the beginning of something and that on the way will be evolving to be telling that story that you are changing, from your personal myself."

The activities will be complemented with music with the Conference Group Festival and the National Symphony Orchestra concerts as well as national ballet performances, the award of national literature competitions, the closure of the writers training program (PROFE) and Ricardo Miró week.
