The Ministry of Culture supports virtual Corpus Christi activities

Panama, 6 June 2020. The Ministry of Culture participates actively in the
Festivity of Corpus Christi in a virtual manner until June 21 with initiatives organized from the Villa of Los Santos and the District of Parita.

Carlos Aguilar Navarro, our country's highest cultural authority, emphasized that Corpus Christi is a cultural expression that shows the diversity of our people and brings together an entire country that challenges its customs and traditions.

For her part, the National Director of Folklore, Karen Peralta, explained that the ministry, as a guarantor and protector of our country's cultural and inmaterial heritage, stands out the efforts of Panamanian artists who participate in this festivity, that mingle the magic of the folklor with the Catholic faith, thus leading up this religious party.

The celebration of Corpus Christi constitutes an old legacy with rituals, cantics and traditional dances that celebrate the body of Christ and have become a living Cultural Heritage. The Ministry of Culture and the people of Villa De Los Santos will transmit through the virtual platforms the Corpus Christi to closely monitor this live tradition through our Facebook page, Panama's Ministry of Culture.

The celebration begins with the Vispere of the Most Holy Trinity at the Villa of Los Santos, with the Ritual of the Diablo Encuetao, on Saturday June 6 at 12: 00 m.
