"Festivals of the arts" a cultural proposal for every public

During October, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) has scheduled a number of cultural offers ranging from awards to national contest winners, Ricardo Miró week, festival development, a typical gala, Conference and National Symphony Orchestra concerts and other activities.

The national director of Las Artes, Isabel Burgos, detailed that this "festival of the arts" includes more than a hundred activities that began from 3 October with the Festival of Visual Arts that will extend up to 14 October with exhibitions of paintings, production, sculptures and master workshops.

The exhibitions will be held at Juan Manuel Cedeño gallery, at the Anita Villalaz Theater, both at Casco Antiguo and at workshops at the headquarters of MiCultura in Via España.

Also, from 4 to 15 October will be the meeting of Literature with about ten proposals in spaces such as the Anita Villalaz Theater, the Peatonal, the Tomas Clavel Auditorium at Universidad Santa María La Antigua (USMA), Clayton and the headquarters of MiCultura in Via Argentina, workshops, convertiums, stories and dramatised readers.

At that time they will be presenting well-known personalities from the world of literature and theater, to mention some as Salvador Medina Barahona, Maritza Vernaza, Mónica Miguel and Edilberto González and Benjamin Ávila, among others.

"October will be a month in which we want art to be taken up and come out of traditional spaces to go where people are," said Burgos, national director of Las Artes, who added that on October 19 and 20, Panama's National Ballet will offer at the National Theater a Tipic Gala that marks the start of activities of the month of the Homeland and that entrance will be free, but interested parties have to withdraw tickets from the theater's office.

The artistic disciplines continue to party with the Conference Group Festival from October 14 to 30 at which the workshops and concerts will be the predominant note, where sites such as Hotel Hilton, Galería de Arte Juan Manuel Cedeño, Auditorium Gil Blas Tejeira and Teatro Anita Villalaz will be some of the scenarios where the audience will be able to enjoy the outstanding participation of duos, quartetes, quintetes and other groups that applied to the open call to participate in this event.

It should be mentioned that MiCultura continues its October agenda by celebrating the Miró Week, which includes the selection and delivery of the highest prize of Panamanian letters by rewarding Panamanian writers, literary excellence in literary genres of novel, essay, theater, poetry and tale, evaluated by a well-known body of both national and international jurors, who will share their knowledge, experiences and provide tools to improve their ideas at the time of writing.

The Nobel Children's and Youth Literature Carlos Francisco Changmarín and Gustavo Batista will be awarded at its 2022 edition.

MiCultura invites the public to participate actively in these activities, following the agenda through the social networks of the entity and thus to support the talent, creativity and proposals of local artists.
