MiCultura participates in regional meeting for the promotion of the performing arts.

Panama 27 May 2020.The Ministry of Culture was present at a virtual session of the twenty-eighth meeting of the Iberescenna Intergovernmental Council, a meeting held this week with 16 member countries.
Panama was represented by Daniel Domínguez, currently National Director of the Arts of the Ministry of Culture.
The meeting served to raise the body's concern about performing arts in the region and to express the "Solidarity of the Programme with the Ibero-American performing arts sector."
The idea was to make the best decisions with a view to the future opening of the 2021 call, as well as "to put in place new protocols so that the beneficiaries of the current year will not be affected to conduct their projects under these special circumstances," as stated by Iberescenna's press release.
The re-opening of blocks Dominguez explained, "we have a temporary picture with a difficult duration that puts more pressure on the Panamanian projects that have been benefitted for their implementation by 2020," so that the adequacy of the protocols was evaluated.
The three aid lines and the opening dates of the 2021 call have been approved at the meeting from June 15th to October 15th 2020 and will be marked by an adaptation of its aid lines to ensure that projects are implemented throughout 2021.
Among other amendments, the possibility will be opened to several forms of participation (face, virtual and mixed) or to research new production and programming formats, and to adapt the program's calls to the circumstances in the context of the Pandemia de Covid-19.
The call will set up aids for creation at: Residency, co-production of Activities of Scenic Arts and Programming of Festivals and Scenic Spaces.
The Ibero-American Academic Arts Aid Fund (IBERESCEN) was established in November 2006, following decisions by the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Panama have been an integral part of this programme since 2014 with an annual contribution of 50 thousand pits.
Cultural managers, performing arts artists and foundations in Panama have been benefitted with these aids as: La Tribu Performance INC, Pro-Escenic and Audiovisual arts Foundation (FAE), Prisma Dance Foundation, José Durango, Creative Space Foundation and so forth.
