Artisans from Guna Yala A Region get an impetus to organize and improve their economy

More than a hundred new artisan from eight communities of the Guna Yala region have been included in the artisan accreditation program undertaken by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) through the National Handicrafts Section.
Gabriel González, his deputy Minister of Culture and his accompanying work team, were welcomed by authorities from the region headed by Governor Alexis Alvarado and the representative of the Narganá Reg, Atilio Patiño, who expressed their satisfaction with MiCultura's initiative and commitment with the artisan.

They are part of the programs of the hive plan advanced by the National Government in co-ordination with MiCultura, with the aim of providing the necessary tools to allow artisan to choose a worthy sustenance that will open up their doors to display their products at fairs and events at national level, thereby strengthening the economy of the sector and that of the artisan themselves.

The 3-day accreditation day began at Niadub, where people from the communities of Nargana, Akuanusadub, Tigir and Niadub benefited. It continued at Mamardub and Ucordi and concluded at Cartí Muladub and Corbisky.

The Deputy Minister of Culture, Gabriel González, who participated in the activity emphasized the importance of accompanying the artisan with their formality and recognition of their activity that will allow them to participate in training, workshops, marketing their products and other benefits that help them to optimize their quality of life.
