MiCultura promotes Braille reading at Book Fair

The works "The Dancing of Our Neighbors, The Solar System" and "The Mast of Teeth" are some of the titles in Braille system that people with visual disabilities read at the pavilion of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), up to August 21, during the development of the International Book Fair.

It will be ten presentations that have been organized through the MiCultura's Office of Equal Opportunities where non-seer readers show to the public the benefits of this means of communication and what this system represents for them with which they have been able to enjoy and get close to reading.

Edgar Morales, Melissa Hernández,
Wilfredo Reyes, Antonio Sánchez, Miracles Murga, Rita Carrera and Yeritzel Palacios are people with visual disabilities who will be in this space.

Melissa Hernández, a teacher of guidance, mobility and braille at the Lozo del Cyego, did the dynamic with those present, showing the system to children, youth and adults who approached the stand. "To promote people with accessibility is extremely important for people with visual disabilities, it's a way to support, get to know and include."

MiCultura will have other activities at its 84th, 84th and 81st pavilion, as well as workshops for children, book presentations, art, caricature and more that can be found on the entity's social networks.

The Braille reading, a system that converts the word written into a touch form for the benefit of people with visual disabilities throughout the world. That type of writing was designed to facilitate text reading to people with visual disabilities.
