Between saloma and mejorana's dance will be held at the Manite Festival

With different folkloric activities and cultural events that seek to maintain the customs and traditions of the man of the countryside, the district of ocu held its traditional and very autochthonous, National Manitor Festival.

The name of the festival arises from the peasant's custom to say hi with his palm, as a symbol of brotherhood and friendship among locals who have been dedicated to maintaining their ancestors's customs between saloma and traditions.

This folkloric event once again been presential at its 49 edition had the presence of MiCultura where about 20 artisan from different fields among textiles, crafts with mud, painting, ceramics and jewelry exhibited their products that were to the pleasure of the visitors.

At the same time, the highest cultural authorities excellently attested with the occueña folkloric dressage, participated in the folkloric parade with Javier Carrizo Esquivel as a banners with whom they went to the main streets of ocú and reached the stage where the head of the cultural portfolio, Giselle González Villarrué, addressed them and congratulated them for their festival.

At the National Manitor Festival we highlight the traditions of the busy people related to the performance of the daily life of an interioran man as the famed "peasant marriage," "the burden of the ranch," "the dead man in talanquera," "the sick man in hammock" among others with a great number of religious symbolics.
