Executive Director of the National Ballet selected as an international competition jury

Gloria Barrios, Executive Director of Panama's National Ballet was selected as a jury to select the dancers who will represent Colombia at the "Miami International Ballet Competition," to be held in that town from January 22 to 26, 2023.
The international competition will involve dancers of all nationalities from 9 to 24 and will be divided into three categories that are individual, group and pas de Deux competitions.
The selection of Colombian representatives will be held at a phase-out that will be held from September 22 to 25 of this year at Pablo Tobón Uribe Theater in Medellín.
Along with Barrios will be as jurors in Colombia, Robert Parker, artistic director at the Ballet Elemhurst School, Birmingham Royal Ballet from London, England and Flavio Salazar from the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School School at the American Ballet Theatre, at the University of Adelphi and at the Marymount College of the United States.
To the executive director of the National Ballet "be invited to participate as Jury at this international disposal, it's a great distinction and recognition of the artistic trajectory, as it's a great responsibility to evaluate young talents in their both technical and artistic performance, giving them Awards and Fellowships for their performance at the contest."
To get to the final in Miami, national competitions are held in several Latin American countries to select their representatives and, in the case of Panama, this phase-out will be held on August 27 at the Fes Danzas Academy.
In earlier contest by Panama they have been leading dancers such as Andrea Diaz, Julieta Del Castillo, Fátima Bodden, Carol Navarro, Natalie Ostrowiak, Cristina Arias, Veronica Khafif and Emma Vallarino.

Barrios has been sworn in contest in Panama and Peru, and has evaluated young ballet promises and in 2019 was invited by the Royal Ballet of London to represent Panama at the Centennial Gala at Honour de Dame Margot Fonteyn.
He is a member of the International Dance Council (CID) UNESCO and a representative of Panama's Ministry of Culture to the Ibero-American Dance Platform.
