The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), through the national direction of The Arts, opened at its headquarters on Saturday July 2 the workshops of the Writer Training Programme (PROFE).

The day includes workshops of Creative Writing, Counting, Novel, Poesy, Theater, Essay and Script and will be performed with face and face to face for a period of four months every Saturday.

A workshop has been scheduled for each gender with 20 students at each and will be run by professionals such as Eratito Espino, in Creative Scripture, Gonzalo Menendez González, in Cuento, Héctor Collado, in Poesia, Edgar Soberón Torchia, in Teatro, Rafael Ruiloba, in Essay, Alondra Badano, in Novela and Manuel Rodriguez, in writing.

The Ricardo Miró winner and professor of Theater and Literature, Alondra Badano, who will conduct the Novela genre and also Professor Héctor Collado, winner of the National contest for children and youth literature 'Carlos Francisco Changmarín 2018, will participate for the first time in these workshops.

Aleyda De Gracia, Head of the Department of Letters of MiCultura said that "the program has been strengthened and increased across all genres and we will innovate with some child writing by next year."

In this regard, Isabel Burgos, national director of the arts, stated that "PROFE was established with a view to improving the standard of writing of people who were participating in national competitions."

"The work of the writer isn't just about entertainment for the public as well as about keeping people's memory, because somehow we're talking about who we are about what time we are about what's happening around us," Burgos added.
