MiCultura strengthens work line with Portobelo and San Lorenzo's program

To strengthen his work, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) with the Portobelo and San Lorenzo (PPSL) Board of Trustees, the Minister, Giselle González Villarrué met with officials of this organization to give continuity to the programs and projects that have been held as a whole and that will complement the revitalization of the site in the restoration process.

At the day, members of the board presented to the Minister and his work team the advances of the Visitor Center at that site, the development of programs with the community focused on highlighting creative industries through events, work alliances with other partners with a view to strengthening culture and other actions that they conduct in Colón and Portobelo province.

"Another important point addressed at this session was to give concrete effect to the review of the statutes governing the Portobelo and San Lorenzo Board, which have to be passed to the Ministry of Government and the Public Registry as a very important step for compliance with Act 175 of the General Cultural Act," said Enilda Quijano, Executive Director.

At this meeting, other initiatives that will strengthen management have been agreed, focused especially on Portobelo's labor, the training of entrepreneurs, and the promotion so that more people can visit the place and wonder what Colón has to offer.
