To recognize the contribution of Panamanian people who have been dedicated to studying, conserving and disseminating folkloric expressions, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) announces an opening for the "Dora Pérez de Zárate Award" and the "Manuel F. Zárate Decor," distinctions that are traditionally given as part of the National Festival of La mejorana at Guararé, Province of Los Santos.

The Dora Pérez de Zárate Award is an award that recognizes the contribution of those people who have been dedicated to studying, conserving and disseminating folkloric expressions for more than 20 years and that their performances have been useful in increasing the essence of nationality.

The Manuel F. Zátiate's décor is intended for those who have been interested in the search, rescue, knowledge and conservation of the Panamanian folklore, while considering those who value, share and respect the diverse forms of conduct, habits, dances, dances, works and popular singing and so forth.
