The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) will work with the authorities of the Omar Torrijos District (OTH) province of Colón to advance programs within that area to support artisan, promote creative industries, folklore and the recruitment of residents to the Orchestra and Youth Corks Network of Panama.
The Minister of Culture (MiCultura) Giselle González Villarrué with national directors and the regional director of Colón, Rudy Rodriguez received the director of Culture of the municipality Omar Torrijos, Eduardo Cano, who outlined the plans intended to benefit the people of this colonial region.
The incumbent of Culture reiterated to Cano his continuing readiness to support training and accompaniment in all activities that are intended to rescue customs and traditions and to support artisans, whose main specialty is work in wood.
Among the specific actions that have arisen at this meeting was the conduct of a concert of the Orchestra and Youth Coros of Panama on May 21 to motivate children and youth for music, and an art exhibition in Panama City, but with jobs made by the artisans of that district and the participation of different addresses of the Ministry of Culture at a festival to be held at Coclesito.
The Director of Culture of the OTH District, Eduardo Cano expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting at which specific actions have been put forward under an agreement reached last year between them.
Rudy Rodriguez, regional director of Colón and Jaime Luna, national director of Crafts emphasized the importance of dialogue with authorities of the OTH District to extend the coverage of the different programs advanced by MiCultura.
