MiCultura to celebrate World Theater Day with free activity

"The theater has been with us since time immemorial. It's a creative exercise that has been capable of overcoming all challenges throughout the passing of mankind. It's an art that has been helping to investigate the depths of the soul of global society," says Daniel Dominguez, National Director of The Arts.

To this date the Anita Villalaz Theater will have an exhibition of put-at-stage signs of works from different rooms of the country and they have been held at different times of the last few decades.

There will be interventions by figures from Latin American boards, who will share with assistants their reflections about the message that this year's American artist Peter Sellars offers at this celebration, who was appointed by the UNESCO to share his ideas about World Theater Day.

MiCultura will give recognition to 3 important teachers of Panamanian theater at this activity: Dairy Calden, Ileana Solís and Edgar Sorcerer Torchia, those who will share with the public their links with national and international boards.

"We wish to give honors to three figure performing arts. Dany Calden is an actor, director and producer, one of the parents of the Popular Theater of Collective Creation in the Latin American region. Ileana Solís is an interpreter, director and producer, one of the totems of the Theater of Calle and of the Civil Expression in Latin America and Edgar Soberón Torchia is an actor, director, producer, playwright, winner more than once of the Ricardo Miró literary prize, film and script director," she emphasized.
