MINISTRA GONZÁLEZ VILLARRUÉ SOSTIENE PRIMER INQUINTER WITH ARTISTICAL GREAT

The Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Giselle González Villarrué held an extensive meeting with about 25 artistic guilds, which became the first approach with the new administration of the entity and where issues of interest to the sector and the lines of action from the cultural entity were addressed.

On this meeting, Minister González Villarrué stated that "expectations have been clarified in a robust, sincere and open dialogue that has laid the foundations for good communication in both ways."

There are challenges and challenges to be met in the next few months as are the regulations of the Culture Act and the National Plan for Culture and most important is to join forces with each other to achieve them, emphasized Minister González Villarrué.

For his part, Katherine Bucktron representing the "Scenic Connecting" group, one of the trade unions represented at the meeting with the Minister felt that the meeting was positive because she served to familiarize herself with the needs, challenges and targets to be established in the creative industry sector and emphasized the interest of the Minister to give "priority" to two issues that are the regulations of the Cultural Act and to design the National Plan of the Sector.

Meanwhile, Juan Villaverde representing ASDAP, a collective management entity emphasized the importance that the new Cultural incumbent give them an opportunity to express "our concerns and the will to continue to work together to improve the cultural system" by providing ideas to achieve the goals outlined.

Sandy Correa, representing the Association of Teatologists of Panama, emphasized the importance of what was stated by Minister González Villarrué, about the commitment to involve all trade unions in the regulations of the General Law of Culture and the drafting of the National Plan of Culture and to be committed to transparency and accountability.

All trade unions expressed their support to the Minister to work together and to build and bring culture to the best level.
