MiCultura organizes discussion about "Pandemia and Multiculturalism"

Panama 22 April 2020.Specialists and experts in anthropology, history and social sciences will discuss the cultural differences that affect and influence how different vulnerable communities live the covio-19 pandemic in our country.

To this end, the Ministry of Culture organizes and invites them to participate in the "Pandemia and Multiculturalism" event this Thursday April 23rd from 9: 30 a.m. through the institution's Facebook Live digital platform.

Marixa Lasso and Enrique Noel, from MiCultura and Uenna Best, general director of the National Secretariat for the Development of Afro-Panamanian and Mónica Martínez Mauri, an anthropologist who has been performing field work about and with the Guna people of Panama and specialist Osvaldo Jordan, are those that make up this interesting panel.

According to Enrique Noel, Director of Cultural Rights and Citizenship of MiCultura, the pandemic has been an opportunity to understand and teach our sons and daughters how to get closer to the books, passing and passing by to promote family reading.

"At these times, books are the possibility of travelling and knowing other cultures and other worlds, living and dreaming. Reading brings skills for creativity, discipline, improving understanding and being more tolerant with others," Noel added.

For his part, Marixa Lasso's National Director of Publications and Research at MiCultura "recalled the celebration of the Virtual March for Science week and invited the public to participate and celebrate with this interesting activity."
