Creative industries included in Plan Panama Solidario

Panama 12 April 2020.The National Government, through its Ministry of Culture, has expressed its support to the national arts and culture profession groups that as an economically active population have been affected by the Covid.19

Recent meetings with representatives of the artistic and cultural community have been held with information about actions to assist with solidarity, where the government has announced that all necessary resources will be available for Panamanian families to have access to food, medicines and basic services such as water, electricity, toilet and internet services.

"In response to the needs of households affected by the Covid- 19 crisis, the National Government implements Plan Panama Solidario, in which areas as creative and cultural industries are included in this assignment," said Minister of Culture Carlos Aguilar Navarro.

The Minister believes that this situation puts us at a time to have an integrated look at the collaboration of all sectors with a view to giving their best hands to those who most require them, including those from formal and informal sectors in every discipline that require assistance from all, united as Panamanian, for the purposes of this difficult situation.

Similarly, this is an opportunity to reflect and appreciate at its just magnitude what culture means in the lives of each of us, recognizing national talent and maintaining the emotional well-being of citizens.

The plans of the institution, once the pandemic has been overcome, include continuing with the project My Culture at Home and developing more cultural activities in the country with the support of the local artistic community that will gradually achieve the promotion and recovery of the economic rhythm in Panama.
