Bicentennial symbol reached San Miguelito

San Miguelito, second most populated district of the Republic, welcomes with great joy and enthusiasm, at the rhythm of congo and al son of tamborito, built up with the arrival of the "Torcha de la Libertad, 200 Wishes For Panama," which has been travelling throughout different parts of the country since November 13th, leading these dreams and recalling the struggles to achieve the country we wish to achieve.

The music gangs of the Municipality of San Miguelito and of the National Police have been charged with threatening the moment, since the Torch was delivered from the hands of the Governor of the Province of Panama, Carla García to the mayor of the District of San Miguelito, Héctor Valdés Carrasquilla, who with his call mentioned "in the District of San Miguelito we have been greatly honored to receive this emblem, an emblem that symbolizes the effort and generational work that has been experienced in the country, Panama is a country of fighters and warriors, living Panama!"

The cultural program was composed of dance performances by Diablito Sucio and congo, formed by the dance group of the elderly of San Miguelito, and later gave the floor to the President of the Municipal Council, Dixia de Ah Chong, who emphasized the historic value that St. Miguelito's District had for the development of the country.

Several authorities of the country were present at the ceremony, including the Health Minister, Luis Francisco Sucre, and Health Minister Ivette Berrio, and Province Governor Carla García and capital's Vice Mayor, Judy Meana and Regional Director of MiCultura at San Miguelito, Raúl Wilson.

The event was an opportunity to highlight the trajectory of the National Folkloric Dance Company, which celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary of Founding on November 28 and with a scroll dedicated to its Founding.
