MiCultura IN INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF CORTOMETRAJES

With the support of the Ministry of Culture, through the Cinema Section (DICINE), 60 audiovisual films from 14 countries will be exhibited at the "Tenth International Cortometrics Festival HAYAH" that will be shown at the Dorado Cinema Room that began on 23 and will extend to 28 November.

Hayah is the region's oldest Central American short films festival, founded in 2007 and has been a key meeting every year for new directors, writers, actors and audiovisual producers to share their talent at an international level.

That year, the opening gala featured an emotional video with memory to the recently killed rock race promoter Kathy Kououklis in Panama.

The conduct of the Festival also includes support from other agencies and companies such as Home - Selected Films Distribution, TVN Media and the Morgan Foundation, and in collaboration with: Associne, Spanish Cultural Center in Panama, Procinema, Ibero Fest and Red Festivals of Cinema Panama and Organizes: La Casa del Cinema and Hello October.

The Vice Minister of Culture, Gabriel González at his inaugural event emphasized his commitment to the development of all art expressions and "Hayah, is an important pillar for strengthening the evolution of film activity in Panama, with its growth reflected in the exponential increase of film production in recent years in the country."

For his part, Mariel García Spooner, director of Hayah's Cortometrics Festival, stated "the role that cinema plays in the development of art and culture, as well as cinema is the bridge of union between countries' boundaries."

This year, the festival has a new category, the "Cinema Justice" category that aims to explain the different challenges that many citizens face in their daily lives, and to explain different problems that affect and damage society.
