Ramiro Ochoa Aguilera, with his work "A Red in the Rorel," was elected as winner of the first National Literature Competition "Luis Renteria," organized by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and the Association of Panama Fumologists (Afutpa).

The essay "A Red at the Rorel" was submitted under the pseudonym, "Passenger of other times" and was chosen from 13 jobs that participated and complied with the regulations established in the contest.

To Joycelyn García, the winning work contains a great deal of authenticity, research from the voice of that number 12, that fanatic who once was the one who embraced the dream of becoming a football player.

It's interesting about the resources contained in the work, as they bring the reader beyond his football court to his knowledge. "That work put together a background from his inspiration but well-supported by facts," García added.

The general secretary, José Ismael Herrera expressed that the contest is a tribute to all the football people who have put us out and within our boundaries, especially the great Luis Renteria, who was not only an outstanding member of the National Team but also leagues from Mexico, Colombia and Bolivia. "

For his part, Hector Brandes, General Director of Pansports emphasized "that amidst what we are living to be able to strengthen culture, sports and education on a cross-sectional axis makes a country develop positively and that more honoring the memory of Luis Renteria that gave us many good things, at the court and beyond."

He added that he was an "exemplary citizen, who came out of a neighborhood and with his talent we can continue to say that sport is, has been and will continue to be a tool of social transformation that changes life and gender social mobility."

Juan Ramón Solís, president of Afutpa emphasized that "we should be proud as a team as we have established a historic precedent in organizing a contest that lays down sports, cultural and social elements.

Without a doubt we have been giving recognition to a great athlete and person as was Luis Rentería, sports and literary culture have been promoted, and society have been sensitised to support the Panamanian association of Lupus "agrego Solís.

The Jury composed of Campo Elegas Estrada, Joycelyn García and Gary Stempel chose as the winner of an honorary mention the work "The laughter, the tears and the happiness of the eternal ball," by journalist and social communicator Manuel de Jesús Alvarez.

The Gala also gave an examination to Cesar Renteria, his brother and his co-founder, and to sponsors of the contest the Panama Canal, Panseportes, MiCultura and a check by B /. 1.50.00 to the director of the Panamanian Association of Lupus (Apalupus) Natalie Harris in support of the Foundation.

The first edition of the winning essay will be 500 copies, of which 100 will belong to the complainant and the rest of the books will be used for Apalupus's benefit.
