MiCultura Certificates New Writers

The Ministry of Culture, through the National Section of the Arts, attested more than 100 students from the "Writer Training Programme."

The program, designed by the Letras Department of the National Section of Art, was established in 2017 with the aim of encouraging literary creation and literature at national level. It also offers the necessary tools to emerging writers so that they can make their writings at a high level and are thus motivated to participate in literary competitions at national and international level.

The main goal of PROFE is to share with students of all ages and different vocations or professions the tools necessary to learn the profession of passing on ideas and emotions from thought to tales, novels, plays, creative writing, essays, scripts or poetry.

That year's workshops were run virtual by great literature experts, as are Ela Urriola, Edgar Soberón Torchia, Salvador Medina Barahona, Eratito Espino Barahona, Eratito Espino Barahona, Octavio Tapia Lu, all winners of the National Prize for Literature Ricardo Miró at his different editions, the writer, writer and audiovisual producer, Manuel Rodriguez and the winner of the Central American Prize for Literature Rogelio Sinan, Marco ponce Adruher.

"Learning to communicate and to express ourselves from the literary genres, is a way to scrutinize the soul of men and women. It's a way to reflect about our feelings, our fears, our hopes, our place in this chaotic and peculiarity world, and it's a way to become aware of today and it's a means to light up that immediate future we call to come," said National Director of the Arts, Daniel Dominguez, at the certification ceremony.

The Writer Training Program (PROFE) had 7 categories: tale, novel, theater, creative writing, essay, poetry and script. The latter was first published and this edition of PROFE 2020 was first published.
