Cabujanos Immortalize The poet Diana Moran

.- The Piazza Soberanía at the Retirement of Cabuya of Chame District will feature the story and literary legacy of poet Diana Moran with the development of a monument in his honor as part of the 92nd anniversary of this lady's nancy, born at this place on November 17, 1929.

That tribute was an initiative of the Pro-monument Committee and those motivated by the prayer contest with the name of the national poet wished to express the feelings and emotion of those who leave the name of Panama beyond our boundaries and who have always been distinguished by their sincere walk and their great love for Panama.

Gabriel Gonzalez, Vice Minister of Culture during his intervention emphasized Diana Estela Moran Garay's figure and emphasized that "through his teaching his efforts have been made to forge into generations of young Panamanian people a sense of national identity, love of his homeland and respect and veneration for literature, art, music and, in sum, all artistic and cultural manifestations of human knowledge."

"He was awarded the National Prize for Literature Ricardo Miró for his poemary" Gaviots of an Open Cross "in 1965. Moran Garay was an invaluable reference to our country's historic memory and his legacy was required to be remembered and as an example for these and future generations," said Gabriel González.

The design of this monument was by the CabUyan artist Aristides Villarreal, who in his description we can highlight that the wall on which this glorious figure stands is built with rolling stones from the Cabuya River, collected and loaded by children from the Rufina María González educational centre, a community school.

To this end, we can say that the front with the face of the poet and the dedicated community, as well as plaques and images that have been referred to as January 9, with a few words from the poem "Sovereign Presence of the Homeland."

For his part Roberto Oscar Moran Bellido, representative of the Corridment of Cabuya emphasized his work to have this bust built, especially by his organization to collect the necessary funds for his creation. He also gave details of his activities as part of the Bicentennial of Spanish Panama's Independence, including the creation of a monument to honor Victoriano Lorenzo and the first museum of the Chame District.

To the Ministry of Culture, it's an honor to be here this morning in so well-deserved tribute to this unique Panamanian woman, that her ashes spread by the Panama Canal do not leave them only in memories, let us not forget his struggles, his social sensitivities for human rights, his letters, his teaching, his surrender, his love for our homeland and for a more fair and equitable society, added the Minister of Culture.

The poems of Moran Garay have been published in Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, the United States, Chile and Spain. Winner of the Ricardo Miró National Prize for his poemary "Gaviotas de cruz open" in 1965. His book Manual of Literary Initiation (Manga Editorial 1997) serves as a reference for literature students.

As part of the cultrual activity of the event, his poems were read as well as the children of the community school represented two rounds that are found the book "Gaviots with an open cross," thus giving up a wish of Diana Moran, that his work will endure, serve as inspiration, especially for the people of Havana, who love and longing so much.
