Documents in Copyright will have electronic signature

Since November 1, all the documents issued by the National Copyright Office of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) have been issued with an electronic signature and have been registered with the Public Registry of Panama. Idania Fernández, head of that address, stated.

The civil servants have detailed that they are "actions for reform and institutional modernisation within the Ministry of Culture," and that they have been adds to the initiative of Updating the Copyright Management System of the Republic of Panama.

The decision lays down as part of the Act 51 of 2008 defining and regulating electronic archives and electronic signatures and the provision of electronic document storage and electronic signature certification services and adopting other provisions for the development of electronic commerce and its subsequent regulations through electronic commerce Executive Decree 684 of 2013.
