Women's voices stand out at a meeting with cheesebirkers

Five ladies representing three of the provinces participated in the First tamborito Singer's Meeting that was held as part of the Fifth Artisanal Festival that organized the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura).
A few days after the Bicentennial of Panama's Independence, Mayelis Martínez (Coclé), Natyarie Anderson (Panama / San Miguelito) and Sonia Zambrano, Nadiel Ruíz and Karol Vergara participated in the province of Los Santos.
The participation of the singers was an expression of Panamanian and folkloric traditions that put to dance the observers who met at the Convent of Conception at the Archaeological Site of Old Panama, place where the meeting of singers was held.
The activity was complemented by the fifth Artesanal Festival, where participation of 20 crafts from different specialized in the manufacture of objects textile works, jewelry, goldsmiths and recycled material as well as consumer crafts.
The festival also included folk performances, pictorial exhibitions, cartoon production, crafts sales, jewelry and typical meals, among other curious about our crafts.
Raúl Wilson Regional Director of San Miguelito stated that this first experiment aims to clear the way to soon organize a National Meeting of Singers as a way to stimulate and promote this musical genre.
The Mosaic Children's Set of My Earth (Généro Espinosa), the first Folkloric Ballet Pride and Splendor, by Professor Elia de Asprilla, delight the public with their cultural presentations that closed with Raúl Aparicio and his ensemble Sunrise that had as his guest singer Yamy Saldaña.
In addition to the varied program offered by MiCultura, attendees enjoyed the day of open doors with free entrance for nationals and residents where you can visit the site and visit the ruins as well as get to know the interactive museum with which the place counts, with the support of the Old Panama Board.
The activity was organized by the National Handicrafts and the regional office of San Miguelito de MiCultura as part of strategies for economic reactivation of the national handicraft sector.
