VICEMINISTRO GONZALEZ DETAINES THE BINCENTENARY TO INITIAR FEMERIES PATRIES

The Vice Minister of Culture, Gabriel González, emphasized at an event at the National Assembly at the beginning of the Venezuelan ephemerids, that this year these dates have a special symbolism as they coincide Colombia's separation with the Bicentennial of Spanish Independence.

At an event that began with the collection of the national flag by the first vice president of the National Assembly, Kayra Harding and where General Secretary José Ismael Herrera was present, later at a cultural civic event, Vice-Minister Gabriel González emphasized the importance of the 200 years of independence and the activities that have been undertaken to highlight this date that will have as its stardate next November 28.

In the presence of deputies, the deputy ministers of education, Ricardo Sánchez, directors and partners of the parliament, González reported that his activities to leave Panama's 200-year independence especially reflected, are in charge of a National Commission established by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo and headed by the Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro.

The Commission added that his members included representatives from a large sector of Panamanian society and together they have worked at more than 300 actions to celebrate the 200 years. That includes lectures, virtual pounding of school gangs, crafts workshops, exhibitions, forums and editions of at least eight books and other activities.

He added that, for the Ministry of Culture, all these actions seek to highlight, not only this date that marked the path on a patriotic calendar, "but also to promote among the population the empowerment of our Panamanian."

Before this event, his deputy ministers represented the Ministry of Culture at the event that was held at the Atlapa Convention Centre, where a cultural event was held with several ministers of state to recognize the work of Panama Solidario and also to remember the victims of the Covenant 19
