MiCultura INTO PRINCIPLES TO LITERARY CONSUMERS

The Spanish Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Carlos Aguilar Navarro, called on Panamanian people to continue "reading to be better people and to read with more enthusiasm, not as an assignment of work, or as an obligation but as an opportunity to enjoy the books for the pure taste of being readers."

The call of Minister Aguilar Navarro was made at the prize gala to the winners of the literary contest, Ricardo Miró, Carlos Francisco Changmarín and Gustavo Batista that was held Thursday October 28 at the National Theater.

After commenting the winners of the contest, the incumbent of Culture emphasized the participation of women in his role as writers and invited them to "continue promoting literature and artistic expressions in Panama."

The winners of the literary contest organized by MiCultura were, Larissa Barrios, in Children's and Youth Literature of the Carlos Francisco Chang Marín contest with the work "Four Stories and a House filled with Books."

At the Ricardo Miró contest the winners were Ela Urriola in the category Count with the work "Carosis," with his third prize being his third prize, Carlos Gasnell Acuña, obtained his first triumph with the work "Under the old sea door" in the category Novela and Consuelo Aurora Tomas Fitzgerald who was put up for the fourth time at the prize Miró with the Sonata for the broken Angels "at Teatro.

For his part, Alessandra Monterrey Santiago earned his first prize with "The Women Willing ants" in the Poetry category, while at the Gustavo Batista Cedeño contest about Poetry Jóven the prize was Jaiko Jiménez who thus earned his second triumph in this contest with a poemary "They are all equal in front of the mirror."

During the ceremony, the national leadership of The Arts of MiCultura recognized the contribution of three great sculptors to the development of the Plastic Arts, Alicia Viteri, Giovanna Benedetti and Justo Arroyo and also to personalities of the letters and painting, who have leave the name of Panama high as José Franco, Bertalicia Peralta and Roosevelt Díaz.
