CATELLIC IGLESIA ALSO CELEBRATION OF THE BINTENARY

After showing an interest in knowing about the different activities that are being undertaken with the occasion of the celebration of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Panama of Spain, the Archbishop of Panama, Bishop José Domingo Ulloa was received by the Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Carlos Aguilar Navarro.

The prelate was accompanied by the rector of the Universidad Santa María La Antigua (USMA) and Francisco Javier Blanco and as Minister Aguilar Navarro, who is also the president of the National Bicentennial Commission was accompanied by Commissioner Griselda López.

During the meeting, Aguilar Navarro told his guests that 162 events have been held since the Commission's membership and other events have been scheduled till December 2021.

The highest cultural authority also called upon the authorities to propose as a whole from the ecclesiastical organization other initiatives involving the groups of children, youth and adults that have been members of each of the parishes of the country.
The Archbishop of Panama made available to the Bicentennial Commission the channels administered by the Catholic Church so that the material currently available to MiCultura can be transmitted through them.

The head of the Catholic Church in Panama added that "we all have to be united so that, at every place and place, this party will be known and what's going on."

For his part, the rector of the USMA, Francisco Javier Blanco, propose to create a memory with all the activities that have been prepared for this celebration so that a document that remains memory for the generations can be found.

Following this approach, Aguilar Navarro propose to Bishop Ulloa to invite a comitiva representing the church to the next session of the Bicentennial Commission.
