National Government Rewards First Marta Matamoros Competition Awards

During the Community Work Tour in the town of Chepo, Panama Province, the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen with the Minister of Culture Carlos Aguilar Navarro and the director of the Panamanian Institute of Cooperative Self-Government, Edwin Navarro awarded the awards to the five winning associations of the Marta Matamoros National Cooperative Competition 2021.

To this first version, the National Government gave checks for an amount of B /. 2,000.00 as non-refundable funds to cooperatives: Agro-Orgics of Western Panama, "" Rescatando Saberes, Sabors and Identity in the Omar Torrijos District, "" Luxury Mola Baby Dresses, "" Educando with Cinema and Our History "and" La Red. "

Those awards reflect one of the actions of the government's plan that President Cortizò Cohen has put at the disposal of citizens to boost businesses, to revive economic and to move forward with his proposals for economic and cultural entrepreneurship.

The first version of the Marta Matamoros Competition is an initiative of the Ministry of Culture through the direction of Creative Economics and its program Creates in Panama with the support of IPACCOOP and the Authority of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (Ampyme).

In this activity MiCultura accompanied by other institutions that carry out different social assistance schemes and programs, gave recognition certificates to seven reading mediators, new Colmena reading centers to communal boards of Chepo District, attested to 20 artisan and gave two recognitions to artisan teachers for their extensive experience and dedicated to production and teaching of artisan technologies.
