Summer MiCultura makes Guna Yala history with 2,500 participants

Panama, 28 February 2010. The summer season of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), "Art in Movement," reached Guna Yala region for the first time in history with the participation of the Dule Orchestra and the presence of more than 2,500 people in the communities of Digir and Niadub enjoying the events.
That initiative by MiCultura, through the National Section of the Arts, was put forward last February 24 with about a thousand people and with a positive response from the public, both national and foreign, who participated in this musical meeting.
The following day, at Niadub, the audience was 1,500 people, making this art-in-motion event an historic fact for our country's culture, says Daniel Domínguez, National Director of the arts at the Ministry of Culture.
The star of the night was the Dule Orchestra, a musical grouping made up of young gunas living in the town and combining dances and music to get close with their culture.
Master Marden Paniza is the creator of this musical concept that fuses original music with contemporary sounds and unifies the expressions of music and dance with youth.
