The Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar, held a meeting with the Administrator of the Tourism Authority, Ivan Elkilsen, to discuss projects that, with regard to cultural tourism, will help to advance the national Government's campaign of branzo país.
The status of projects related to Coiba National Park, the Rocha del Café, El Volcano Barú, as the highest point to see both oceans, Folklore and vernacular traditions, Bocas del Toro and its Afro-descendant Culture, congo Culture and its festivals and Transisimic Colonial Roads were evaluated during the meeting between the institutional authorities.
The Minister of Culture emphasized the importance of artistic and cultural production as part of the country's tourism offer. "All that is produced in culture is a tourist product. The national identity is an entity that contributes with tourism. Also, the area of research on issues of heritage, science and history, as tourist attractions. Also, the creative and cultural industries that also forms part of that tourism offer," remarked Aguilar.
For his part, the ATP Administrator stated that with the projections that have been thought and that will include MiCultura, there's an opportunity to organize a calypso music festival in cooperation with the Minister of Culture of Costa Rica.
It was also intended to include, as a tourist product, production of cocoa in high lands and the Ruta de los Palacios, composed of the Palacio de la Garzas and the Palacio Bolívar.
The Gastronomic Festival, to be held on the first Sunday of each month, will complement the Old Panama Artesanal Festival, support to the Ancestral Games and an exhibition of elements of the culture of indigenous peoples with their traditions and customs.
