MiCultura meets with representatives of different indigenous peoples.

Seven representatives of indigenous groups from Panama met for the first time with authorities from the Ministry of Culture to introduce the project of the "Panama 2020 Indigenous Ancestral Games."

The original group was received by the Vice-Minister of Culture, Gabriel González, and the Senior Office Advisor, Enrique Noel, who talked about different cultural issues that can benefit and familiarize these communities.

Cándido Mezúa Salazar, Secretary for International Relations of the Mesoamerican Alliance of Peoples and Forests, mentioned that "the Ancestral Games are far more than indigenous games, and that's how we share our identity as a people. It's part of our work and we come here to get the state through this ministry to support youth, culture and this kind of sports activity."

Gabriel González, his deputy Minister of Culture, remarked that his ministry will always support his different cultural activities, "we wish to preserve his or her tongue and, with his or her light, to open up a museum where we can show the world its roots and culture."
