A full night of dances, malabares, music, crafts and gastronomy have been visited by both national and foreign visitors, and they have been assembled this Saturday evening at Plaza V. Centennial to enjoy the return of Cultural Night "Viva el Casco," a free family show organized by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) through its office of Casco Antiguo (OCA).
That cultural offer gave an artistic agenda that began with the presentation of the Ballet Folk Panama Danzas Hoy, that shown a colorful and best-known repertoire of dances typical of different regions of the country as "Cumbia Tucba Caña," "Danza de los Congos de Colón," "Dánga Espejos," "La Espina" among others.
The Radical Arte grouping, between malabares with carpinteres and fire, and atrobatas, and ptipatarras, attracted the audience's attention to all of the little ones. He also used his birthday to be sung to the "Jazz Lady" and Idania Dowman, who was among the public.
While the public enjoyed this activity, they were delighted with the delicious cuisine of the exhibitors of "Sabores del Barrio," an iconic project of the OCA that already has fourteen years of performance and that offers an opportunity for entrepreneurs from the community to bring economic income to their families.
To close the musical evening, Monchi Lucas and Eduardito Ruíz put them to dance with the music of the well-known National Combos performing great success as: "The Barks at Bahia," "The Moon and Toro," "Palo de Mamey," and many more.
As part of our commitment to offering an accessible culture, we have a sign-tongue interpreter at this event so that the deaf people have an opportunity to enjoy the music program at night as well.
Fernando Diaz, director of the OCA, emphasized his complacency to re-engage this activity, which activates the beautiful public spaces of the historic centre offering for the enjoyment of Panamanian families several artistic manifestations as part of his right to cultural accessibility.
