Festivals with an Afro-African festival and an end to the Black Age

With the conduct of the First Crafts Festival this weekend at the Old Panama Archaeological Site, where samples created by Afro-Panamanian artisan people were exhibited, they closed the activities of the Black Age Month.

The festival with the presence of the Vice Minister of Culture, Gabriel González and was organized by the National Directorate of the Arts of the Ministry of Culture and with the Panama La Vieja Board was an opportunity to show an expression of the customs and traditions of the Black ethnic group through presentations by several groups.

Among these were the grouping "Folk Projections Traditions of my Panama led by Professor Ana María Domínguez, the Set of Folk Projections Pride and Splendor of Eastern Panama, and Folk Projections, I'm Panama (Prof. Arturo Samar).

Also presented were the Municipal Sextet, Fashion Parade Uma Juraniss (designer María Ornan), dance set Bullerengue: Ritter Dance and Folk Traditions (Prof. Delfín Hernández) and an Afro fashion parade with pieces by designer Alex Adames.

Jaime Luna, national director of MiCultura's crafts, stated that this festival is more proof that the artisans have come to rescue the legacy of Afro-descendants.

The festival was supported by other institutions such as the Micro and Small and Medium Enterprise Authority (Ampyme). Panama Urban and Domiciliary Health Authority (AAUD), National Institute for Women (INAMU), Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) and Ministry of Health (MINSA).
