Panama, September 4, 2026. - The National School of Dance celebrates 78 years of course with a special presentation that pays tribute to the famous Spanish composer Manuel de Falla, from 8 and 9 October at 7 p.m. at the Teatro Aúrea "Beby" Torrijos de Ciudad de las Artes, with free entrance to the public.
The initiative, with an association with the Cultural Center of Spain - Casa del Soldado, will bring together the students of the School of Danzas and an allegorical adaptation of the work "La amor witjo."
Iguandili López, director of the school, emphasized that the assembly combines disciplines such as classical, modern and jazz dance to offer an artistic and pedagogical course with the main goal of enabling students to get to know and strengthen their training and great classical composers through the movement.
The gala will also have the special participation of Estela Alonso, first dancer of the Spanish National Ballet, who will join as guest figure to collaborate with the student cast.
Alonso talked with the media and expressed his pride that the celebration was in honor of the great dance master, Manuel de Falla. "It's a great musical reference for Spanish culture and to be here as an guest artist of that Spanish dance and to be able to share with these students is a gift that I will enjoy."
Finally, his birthday was sung with a cake that was referred to at the 78-year anniversary of the National School of Danzas. The Ministry of Culture preserves the memory of this Panamanian institution that has been promoting, for decades, the national talent of performing arts artists.
