Panama June 22, 2026. From June 24 to July 16, the Ministry of Culture will conduct a cultural and artistic program at different locations of the capital as part of the commemorative activities of the Bicentennial Conference of Panama and the celebration of the 56th General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) with the aim of bringing citizens closer to the historic legacy of this meeting that lays the foundations for dialogue and cooperation among American nations.

The agenda includes exhibitions, concerts, dance and artistic presentations that will be held at the National Theater, the Anayansi Theater and the City of the Arts. The central activities include the documentary and photo exhibition "From the Anfictionic Congress of Panama to the Inter-American System: A History of hemispheric cooperation and integration in the Americas," organized by the National Cultural Heritage Directorate of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Colón Library of the OAS and the Numismatic Association of Panama.

The sample brings together documents, photographs and historic pieces that give an information about the impact of the 1826 Panama Congress on the construction of the Inter-American System.

The exhibition will also be shown "Back to Panama: Art, memory and diplomacy at the Bicentennial of the Anifictionic Congress," which brings together works by Panamanian artists from the collections of the Panama Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC Panama) and the OAS Museum of Art of the Americas, offering a look at the links between artistic creation and the shared history of the continent.

The artistic program will start June 24 with a presentation by the National Ballet of Panama at the National Theater. A day later, June 25, the public will be able to enjoy at the Anayansi Theater the concert of the Turkish tenor Aykut Yilmaz and Pianist Senay Yilmaz, in a free entrance feature.

June 27 will be one of the most outstanding dates of the cultural agenda with the opening, at the City of the Arts, of an exhibition of 19 paintings that will be open up to July 27 as well as a sample of works that belong to the collection of the OAS that will be visited until December 2026. That same day, Greek singer Alexandra Graves will offer a special presentation accompanied by the National Ballet of Panama.

Activities will continue on June 30 with the recital "Souls in Sound," performed by Ukrainian pianist Anna Ovakimian at the City of the Arts. On July 1, Panamanian violinist and composer Maricel Méndez Salazar will be introduced, while the closure of this commemorative program will be held on July 16 with a concert at the National Symphony Orchestra at the National Theater.

With this cultural agenda, Panama recalls the 200 years of the 1826 Anifictionic Congress through artistic and heritage expressions that invite the public to know about the importance of this historic event and its contribution to the dialogue among the peoples of the continent.
