Panama April 29, 2026. The office of the Casco Antiguo of the Ministry of Culture of Panama conducted the program "Casco Antiguo Te Visits" in the region of Guna Yala, specifically in the Islas of Narganá, Naidub, Tigre and Río Azúcar. The day was developed as part of its strategy of cultural decentralization.

The program had educational and artistic contents inspired by Panama's Casco Antiguo. It aims to strengthen historic knowledge, cultural identity and a sense of belonging in participating communities.

The initiative, with its mission to project at national level the value of the Historical Monumental Set, achieved an extraordinary welcome in the islands of the region, where students and communities had a unique educational and artistic experience, connecting with the heritage without leaving their territories.

Through a dynamic and participatory approach, the program developed three fundamental pillars: educational sessions supported by photo material from the most iconic monuments, the provision of professional inputs such as canvas, brush and oil pastry to promote artistic expression, and an open invitation to visit the Casco Antiguo, strengthening the link between communities and this historic site.

The impact was significant. A total of 279 students and members of the community participated actively at the Roberto Chiari School at Nargana Island, Tikantiki School at Naidub Island, Sahya Iguandingipe School at Tiger Island and Sugar River School as well as at the heart of Jesus community.

Beyond the figures, the experience gave profound prints: children and youth have not only learned about the history, architecture and cultural value of Casco Antiguo but have also transformed their own vision of heritage and have become bearers and multipliers of identity.
