Panama, April 8, 2026. The City of the Arts was visited by Anton, the official mascot of the South American Youth Games 2026, and was received by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Ivis Moreno, with the National Director of Folklore, José Alberto Sosa.

Anton is a golden frog, who was elected as an official mascot of the event, because it's a unique species of Panama, at risk of extinction. The color of his "golden" skin symbolizes the discipline and effort of every athlete represented at the medals.

At his visit to the City of the Arts, the mascot shared with the students of music, dance and theater and interacted with the children, youth and adults who met during his journey, making questions and answers games, talking about the meaning of the golden frog in national biodiversity and especially encouraging support for this sports event.

The South American Youth Games will be held from April 12 to 25, 2026 and will have nearly 2000 athletes from 15 countries with 23 discipline, with Panama's first place to be represented with athletes from across the country.
