Panama City, March 28, 2026. - The Casco Antiguo became a stage of faith and tradition with the celebration of the procession of Friday Dolores, giving an official start to International Holy Week 2026.

The activity, organized by the Redeemer and Virgin of the Dolores Christ's Fellowship, a Catholic religious association with headquarters at the Merced Church at Casco Antiguo of Panama, brought together thousands of people who turned to the streets to remember the suffering of the Virgin Mary with the passion of Jesus Christ, at one of the most significant religious manifestations of the country.

During the day, the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, accompanied Bishop José Domingo Ulloa, Father Javier Mañas and other priests, actively participating in the liturgical events that mark the start of the Special Week. The presence of ecclesiastical and cultural authorities emphasized the importance of this tradition as part of Panama's living heritage, strengthening the spiritual, cultural and tourist value of the Casco Antiguo.

The streets, filled with history, were filled with devotion and recollection, in an environment where the community united to accompany the Lady of Dolores. Between the silence and solemnity of the journey, faithful and visitors had an experience that emphasized that Holy Week was not only observed but felt and lived deeply.
