Panama City, March 26, 2026. International Holy Week 2026 will be held from March 27 to April 5 at the Casco Antiguo of Panama City with an extensive program of liturgical events, processions and sacre art expressions that will bring together thousands of national and international faithful and visitors at one of the most iconic historic sites of the country.

The Ministry of Culture will provide comprehensive logistics support to this celebration, in co-ordination with the Archdiocese of Panama and with the organizing committee, through interinstitutional articulation for the proper use of property spaces, technical support for the staging of activities as well as strengthening cultural outreach and organisational accompaniment, contributing to the order and safety of attendees.

The Minister of Culture emphasized the relevance of this tradition and noted that "Holy Week at Casco Antiguo is a living expression of our identity, where faith and art are found to preserve our spiritual cultural heritage."

For this edition, more than 250 thousand people are expected to participate during the different activities scheduled.

As part of this year's attractions, the premiere of new paths of the crucified Christ and the representation of the Holy Supper will be held, enriching the artistic and devotional value of the processions.

In preparation for this influx, the office of the Casco Antiguo advances improvement work at key points of the area, including repairing pits and care to sink some streets with the aim of ensuring the safety and proper traffic of visitors.

Amber Zambrano, director of the Casco Antiguo office, reported that the site will be open every day during Holy Week, allowing continuous car access to residents and performing a partial closure for visitors at the time of processions.

The entity will also have information and hydration points, in co-ordination with the security stations, as part of an inter-institutional operation with an important police presence to provide a secure, orderly and accessible experience.

The logistics of the event will also be supported by the MiBus transport system, which will enable internal routes to facilitate the mobilization of attendees to the Casco Antiguo, strengthening accessibility throughout the religious day.
