Panama March 13, 2026. At a press conference, the Panama National Ballet of the Ministry of Culture officially presented its 1026 Art Agenda, a season that includes more than 30 activities between great production of the classical repertoire, special gala, an international festival, commemorative functions and national and international tours.

The announcement also highlighted the impact of the company last year, while more than 47,000 people participated and attended his presentations throughout last year, reflecting the growing public interest in dancing and strengthening the ballet in the country.

The season will start formally with one of the most popular titles of the Universal Repertoire. "The Lake of the Cisnes" will be presented from March 27 to March 29 at the National Theater, an iconic work that has conquered the Panamanian public and that returns with new performances and participation of guest dancers, choreography by Konstantin Kosjukov.

In April, the company will conduct an international tour of Mexico from 14 to 19, strengthening cultural ties and artistic exchange with international companies and public.

That same month, the National Ballet will celebrate International Dance Day with special functions on April 25 and 26 at the National Theater, presenting a great repertoire that will bring together several pieces of classical and contemporary ballet.

The Repertoire will continue with another great classical production: "El Corsario," with choreography by David Makhateli that will come up to the stage from May 7 to 10 at the Anayansi Theater, a work recognised for his technical virtuosism and scenic spectacularity.

In June, Panama will be a meeting place for artists and ballet lovers with the performance of the Dance Festival, which will include the opening gala June 3 and June 4 and June 5 and the Clausura Gala with the Youth Gala June 6 at the Balboa Torres Torrijos Theater, bringing together leading national and international artists.

The second half of the year will bring about one of the most awaited productions: "Romeo and Juliet" with choreography by Sophie Sarrote in celebration of the 55th anniversary of the National Ballet of Panama, with performances from 27 to 30 August and from 3 to 6 September at the National Theater.

In October, the magic of the classical Repertoire will continue with "The Sleeping Beauty," to be presented from October 23 to 25 at the National Theater, one of the most majestic works of the classical ballet.

The program also includes participation by international choreographers who continue to enrich the company's repertoire. Among them are Eduardo Blanco, choreographer close to the National Ballet, who since 2016 has created Neoclassical pieces that are currently an important part of the group's repertoire.

The season's closure will again feature the renowned choreographer David Makhateli, who will date back to his Christmas classic "El Cascanueces," with his performance from December 5 to December 13 at the National Theater, followed by a national tour that will conduct production to Boquete and Colón and additional presentations at the Anayansi Theater on December 21 and 22.

The 2026 season also marks a new stage of artistic growth for the company, with the addition of new international dancers that are integrated into the artistic body, enriching cultural exchange and increasing the technical level of the grouping.

With more than 30 activities scheduled throughout the year, Panama's National Ballet continues with its mission of bringing the ballet closer to the public, promoting national talent and strengthening cultural dialogue with the world, offering high level artistic productions that celebrate the movement, music and scene.
