During the Extended Cabinet Board at Penonomé, the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, announced an investment more than B / .17 million dedicated to nine strategic projects in the province of Coclé. These works will have a positive impact on some 300 thousand Panamanian people.

Under the leadership of President José Raúl Mulino, Minister Herrera emphasized that these initiatives seek to strengthen cultural infrastructure, restore historic heritage and create community spaces that will boost the social and economic development of the region.

Of the nine projects announced, Minister Herrera confirmed that the Centre for Stelina Tejera Art and Culture, located at Penonomé, is currently under implementation. With an investment that goes beyond B / .12.5 million, this work is at the core of the cultural strategy in the province and aims at artistic training for youth and adults, continuous cultural planning and an area of community use for social development.

It's estimated that the centre will be opened in November of this year, with a landmark for the Coclé infrastructure. The remaining projects are currently at the appropriate stage of processing and bidding.

The projects currently under planning, technical training and bidding have been set up with an investment of B / .748,133.57 and are scheduled to be delivered by February 2027 for the benefit of 5,000 people.

The Centre for Fairy Cultural Motivation and Learning of the Barrio, submitted this Tuesday to the Cabinet Board, scheduled to be delivered by March 2027 at a cost of B / .2 million, will benefit more than 52 thousand people and aims to rebuild the social fabric through culture, art and sport.

The refurbishment of the José María Pinilla Urrutia Library at Natá (with date of delivery for February 2027) and the Melchor Lasso Library at La Vega at Pocri, Aguadulce are currently scheduled for more than B / .500 million for more than 2.450 people.

The restoration of heritage churches of the province of Coclé, of the Cultural Heritage Section with an investment of B / .260 thousand are also scheduled. It includes the complete restoration of the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Carmen in Aguadulce with an investment of B / .330 million and the Chapel of St. John of God. It is also planned to restore the real estate museum of the Museo del Parque Archeógica El Caño, established in 1979.

The creation of an ambitious Gold Museum project, a dual museum complex that works with the Natá Mayor's office, also includes MiCultura's projects to protect archaeological goods through proper storage and maintenance.

"We seek to decentralise national cultural offer and create a pole of regional development. To integrate the museum with the local educational system and to promote technical promotion of conservation, archaeology, museum and heritage and to consolidate the candidacy of the Valle del Río Grande as a World Heritage of the UNESCO," Herrera said.
