My dear Old Casco: Ivan Casis depicts his memory and the heritage of his neighborhood that saw him growing

Panama, February 4, 2026. The exhibition "My dear Old Casco" by Panamanian artist Ivan Casis will be held until February 19 at the Juan Manuel Cedeño Gallery in Las Bóvedas with free public entrance from 8: 00 a.m. to 4: 00 p.m.

The sample brings together 85 works in ceramic and acrylic painting that capture streets, parks, monuments and iconic corners of the Casco Antiguo, the result of a constant observation that the artist has been performing since 1980 about the spaces and architecture of the place.

For Casia, this exhibition has a profound personal and artistic value. His first training was at the Fine Arts Section, located at Casco Antiguo, under the guidance of master Adriano Herrera Barria, who motivated his students to draw every building, street and monument of the neighborhood. That exercise marked his look and his permanent link with his historic heritage.

Born at 5th West Street near the Cathedral 76 years ago, the artist claims to be deeply linked to his growing neighborhood.

His works have facades, balconies, tenderas, flowers and architectural details that reflect the lives that have been passing through these spaces.

"To portray the historic heritage is to portray lives that have been passed by. Each building and every street have a story," says the artist, who invites the public to conduct this exhibition as a way to meet with the beauty and charm of the Old Town.

"I'm in love with this place and I think whoever's visiting the sample will be as good as me," she concludes.
