Vereda Artesanal and Creative dynamizes the cultural economy as part of activities at the Mil Polleres Parade

Panama January 16, 2026. With the participation of 120 national artisan and entrepreneurs, the Ministry of Culture and the Tourism Authority of Panama opened the Artisanal, Cultural, Entrepreneurship and Gastronomic Vereda on Wednesday, January 14, an area that will be open until January 17 in front of the Province of Los Santos, Ramón Mora Street, as before the Mil Polleres 2026 Parade.

The Vereda will be open from 10: 00 a.m. to 9: 00 p.m., offering an extensive display of crafts, traditional pieces, creative designs, typical cuisine and innovative products made by Panamanian hands in different regions of the country.

That space was an opportunity to meet with their potential buyers and to promote responsible cultural consumption and recognition of artisan work as an integral part of Panama's living heritage.

On Friday, January 16, an artistic and protocolary tima will be held at the seedling grounds that will include the surrender of recognition to the Folklore Stars, such as: Bella Herminda "Minda" González de Cedeño, Artesan de polleras, Balbino Gómez, Música Tipica, Carolina Alonso, Compositora and at tamborito Lucrecio "YEJO" Cedeño, figures outstanding for his contribution to protecting national traditions.

The tribute will feature audiovisual material about his trajectories. During this same event will be the surrender of the Flag to the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, as a banners of the 2026 Parade, followed by musical presentations by typical artists such as Osvaldo Ayala and Isaac De León.

The Civil and Creative Vereda coordinated by MiCultura is designed as a space that promotes the regional cultural economy, Visibilizes the work of hundreds of traditional bearers and strengthens the production fabric of the artisan sector.

The public are invited to conduct its tour, support artisan and enjoy an authentic cultural experience at the heart of Las Tablas.
