Panama officially opened the L Regular Meeting of the CECC / SICA Council of Ministers and Ministers of Education and Culture, an event that brings together the highest authorities from the countries of Central America and Dominican Republic, to strengthen regional dialogue and advance a joint agenda for education and culture.

The protocolary event began with the words of the Executive Secretary of the CECC / SICA, Roberto M. Suárez, who emphasized the meaning of this quote that coincides with the commemoration of the 50 years of the Central American Educational and Cultural Coordination, five decades of sustained work for educational development, cultural promotion and regional integration. Suárez thanked the Government of Panama for its warm welcome and for being an ally with the integration processes.

Following these statements, the Minister of Culture of Panama and President pro tempore of the Cultural Council, María Eugenia Herrera, and Minister of Education and President pro tempore of the Board of Education, Lucy Molinar, emphasized the importance of this space to promote concrete actions to strengthen comprehensive education, creativity, cultural access and opportunities for children, youth, artists and cultural communities in the SICA region.

The programme also had the participation of strategic partners such as the Director of the Regional Office of UNESCO for Central America, Mexico and Colombia, Alexander Leicht and the Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), Andrés Delich, who reaffirmed the continuous support of both organizations for educational and cultural development in Central America and Dominican Republic.

One of the most significant moments was the demonstration of the video commemorative for the 50th anniversary of the CECC, which reviewed achievements, milestones and joint advances in areas such as inclusive education, creative industries, school texts, teacher strengthening, preservation of cultural heritage and cooperation among countries.

A special recognition was also made at this celebration to Abel Aronategui Vivies, "For his contribution to the culture of the region, his flag was always the spirit of integration, and his institutional commitment, but especially for his friendship."

With the closure of the protocolary event, the authorities gave way to the working sessions, aimed at strengthening agreements and proposals that advance educational and cultural integration for the benefit of the peoples of Central America and Dominican Republic, reiterating Panama's hospitality as a host country and its strong support for the SICA's efforts.

The day was attended by official delegations, international agencies, diplomatic corps and special guests.
