Panama, December 5, 2025. - The preparations to make the Mil Polleres Parade, an unforgettable event, are currently at its final stage. A few more months after this folkloric party, where the most beautiful nightclubs of the country come together, the Ministry of Culture has its flag: José del Carmen "Tito" Combe, a well-known artisan, specialized in the production of typical dresses.

Combe has been a native of Santo Domingo de Las Tablas and throughout his course has been widely recognized for his talent and dedicated to preserve his traditions as a result of his production of gala polleras, nightshirts and ponds.

The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, with the regional director of the Tourism Authority of Panama, Daniel Pérez, gave two notifications to people who will be recognized as "Strellas del Folklore 2026."

The singer of tamborito, Lucrecio "Yejo" Cedeño and Ms.Bella Herminda González de Cedeño, an outstanding teacher at the nightclubs, will be part of the four exponents of the folklore that will be paid a tribute. That distinction, that will be given on Friday, January 16 at the stage of shows at the Rue de la Mil Polleres, is awarded to personalities who have dedicated their lives and talents to the preservation and transmission of our knowledge and our culture.

The Mil Polleres 2026 Parade is scheduled for Saturday January 17th and promises to bring together, as every year, the most beautiful tights of the country throughout its splendour. That event is one of the most popular in the world of folklore, where we can find most of the folkloric expressions of the Azuero sector, highlighting as its name says "tidal tights," but also our typical music and cuisine.
