Panama, November 21, 2025. The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), through the National Cultural Rights and Citizenship Directorate, held the Public Policy Development Workshop on November 20 and 21 at its headquarters.

The aim of the initiative was to strengthen technical skills for the design, implementation and appraisal of cultural policies with a governance approach.

The intensive day brought together members of the National Conference of Cultures, officials from MiCultura and representatives from other government and local governments, promoting an area of training and interinstitutional articulation.

The workshop's facilitator, Enrique Noel, emphasized the importance of integrating different voices into cultural policy building. "The goal is to keep in mind the need to generate public policies with governance, integrating the participation of private enterprise, civil society and governments at their different territorial levels," she said.

He added that the meeting aims to "strengthen technical capabilities for the design, implementation and appraisal of public policies of culture."

For her part, the national director of Cultural Rights and Citizenship, Katherine Bucktron, emphasized the strategic value of this training process. "The idea of this activity is to prepare ourselves to conduct and strengthen the production of cultural projects and public policies as part of the National Cultures Plan."
