Panama October 16, 2025. From 24 to 26 October, the District of La Pintada will be filled with music, color and national pride with the celebration of the XIII National Festival of the Pintao Hat, under the motto "The tradition will be knitted with pride."

That event, which celebrates his art, culture and Panamanian identity, will bring together more than 150 artisan, 40 carts and 56 stands with a varied sample of handmade products. Visitors will be able to enjoy the traditional ride, the Mil Hat Parade and an artisan fair where 176 creators will display their pieces, offering a window to national talent.

The festival will be held at the Plaza 25 de Deczo, centre of cultural and folklore activities, that will include typical performances, live crafts competitions, and demonstration of the production process of the Pintano Hat, declared in 2017, Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO.

"as a Ministry of Culture we are the guarantors to protect and promote this artisan legacy. Our aim is to continue to give impetus to the artisan and new generations that keep this tradition alive, pride of our Panamanian identity," expressed his deputy ministers of culture, Arianne Benedetti.

The National Hat Festival Pintano is a tribute to one of the most representative expressions of the Panamanian folklore and at the same time a space that promotes local economic activity, attracting national and foreign visitors who find an authentic experience with every fiber and design.

The press conference was attended by Ina Rodriguez, mayor of La Pintada and president of the festival's board of directors, Dana Castañeda, and Lia Itzel Chang, Queen of the festival and Graciela Sánchez representing the artisan.

For three days, La Pintada will become a meeting place of the folklor and tradition, recalling that every Pintao Hat intertwines the history, creativity and pride of the Panamanian people.
