Panama, September 21, 2025. - The Multifunctional Aurea "Baby" Torrijos Auditorium first opened its doors this Saturday September 20 with the Ibero-American Orchestra and Youth Chorus concert 2025, achieving a resounding success.

More than 80 young musicians and christian from 15 countries delight the public with a diversity of repertoire that includes works from Honduras, El Salvador, Argentina, Panama, Colombia and other countries, highlighting the power of music and regional commitment to art as an engine for union and development.

The concert was directed by Colombian teacher Paola Ávila, who led to the grouping with energy and emotion and reached a memorable interpretation, applauded by his assistants.

At the event, the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, expressed: "Today, we make history at this Aurea 'Beby' Torrijos Theater, to celebrate the commitment, surrender and passion of those who have made music a way to grow, learn and share. That concert transcends the artistic: it's a reflection of a great effort with endless hours of essay, of goals achieved with dedicated dedication and of a community that believes in the power of art to unite and build together a present and a future where fraternity and music come together to build a more noble world."

Herrera also highlighted the path of the Ibero-orchestras Juveniles Programme, originated at the Tenth Ibero-American Summit in 2007, which for nearly two decades has been beneficial to thousands of children and adolescents, providing them with quality musical education and new opportunities for their personal and social growth.

That great cultural meeting was organized by the Ibero-orchestras Juveniles Programme in collaboration with the Network of Orchestra and Youth Chores of Panama and reaffirmed our country as a meeting point for Ibero-American music and youth.
