Panama, August 15, 2025. - Three young writers have been winners of the Rosa María Britton Youth Counting contest, in its third version. The Jury, made up of writers Briseida Bloise, Silvia Fernández de Risco and Katia Malo, have reviewed in detail 80 stories that have been adjusted to the bases 2025.

Each of them focused on issues, with an emphasis on the use of literary resources, good character management, an appropriate vocabulary, good spelling and the quality of his and her stories.

The first prize, unanimously, was for "The Hidden Roof" by Jahelis B. Percival Phillips of the 9th degree of the Bern Bilingual Baptist Institute. The Jury felt that this work was outstanding in his water treatment, nature, clear identification as science fiction and his powerful message of positive impact.

It's appealing and captivating and promotes essential values such as perseverance, curiosity, hope, friendship, ancestral wisdom, gratitude and environmental responsibility.

The second place was for the work "The Children of the Sea," written by Karol Arling Matute of the 10th grade of the I.C International School, for its originality, excellent handling of the characters, resort to traditions and to the generational legacy.

The third place was achieved by the work DULE, by the young Natsumi Sayira Chong Jaramillo of the tenth second of the Santo Domingo educational centre of Coclé, because it presents a consistent development, clear transitions, clear central ideas and details in the management of the architecture of the gender tale. It's not a science fiction of spacecraft but an expanded awareness and spiritual connection with the cosmos.

The Jury gave an honor mention to the student Nerys Valentina Lara Lucas from the eleventh grade of the Abel Bravo College at Colón.

The contest was launched with the aim of promoting and encouraging literary creation among youth.
